Mehr als eine Woche nach dem „Lockdown“ in Österreich musste für die pepperbird in Levington eine Lösung gefunden werden. Auch diesmal waren die Verkäufer und die Makler von sehr großer Hilfe.
More than a week after the „lockdown“ in Austria, a solution had to be found for pepperbird at Levington. Again, the sellers and brokers were of great help.

Stephen von Clarke and Carter hat mit Aaron vom Suffolk Yacht Harbour Kontakt aufgenommen, mit dem ich ausgemacht habe, dass pepperbird (in der Marina heißt sie noch immer Periplus) an Land gestellt werden sollte. Immerhin würde am 1. April der Vertrag der Vorbesitzer enden und es musste eine Lösung her. Abreisen ging ja nun nicht mehr.
Ab drei Monaten Liegezeit würde diese Lösung trotz zwei Mal Kranen günstiger sein, als der Platz am Steg. Außerdem sollte das Boot wieder einmal aus dem Wasser kommen, um nach fast zwei Jahren dem Rumpf Gelegenheit zum Austrocknen zu geben.
Stephen from Clarke and Carter contacted Aaron from Suffolk Yacht Harbor, with whom I agreed that pepperbird (she is still called Periplus in the marina) should be hauled out. After all, the previous owner’s contract would end on April 1 and a solution had to be found. Leaving was no longer possible.
For a preiod longer than three months, this solution would be cheaper than the place at the pontoon, despite the cost of being moved twice. Furthermore, the boat should come out of the water to give the hull a chance to dry out.

Also habe ich per Mail mit der Marina einen Vertrag für die nächsten drei Monate ausgehandelt; pepperbird sollte an Land gestellt werden. Nach drei Monaten würden wir die Situation neu bewerten und neue Entscheidungen treffen.
Einziges Hindernis dabei: wegen Corona wurde der Betrieb des Travellifts bis auf weiteres eingestellt, wann also das Boot aus dem Wasser geholt werden könne, war nach wie vor unklar. Allerdings bezahlt ich trotzdem den günstigeren Landliegeplatz.
Subsequently, I negotiated a contract for the next three months with the Marina; pepperbird should be put ashore. After three months, we would reassess the situation and make new decisions.
The only obstacle, however, „Corona“ inhibited the operation of the travel lift until further notice. Therefore it was still uncertain when the boat could be hauled out of the water. But I still pay only for the hard standing.
